Modern Medicine. Traditional Values.

Tweed House Veterinary Surgery is a family-run company, which aims to provide comprehensive small animal veterinary care to the communities of North-West Leeds and the surrounding areas. We strive to serve the community through education of pet owners, the general public and our employees alike. We will always charge a fair price for the care we provide, so that we can continuously improve through reinvestment in new services, technologies and employee education. This will allow our employees to develop their careers and will ensure we always provide the best service to the community.
— Tweed House Mission Statement

Our History

Tweed House in yeadon was established in 1983 by Gil Averis. in 1991 she opened a second branch in pudsey.

In 1999 the Yeadon branch was expanded and extensive alterations were carried out to provide excellent facilities for the patients and our veterinary staff.

Tweed House also has a branch surgery at Pudsey. This began as a small satellite surgery in 1991 and has expanded into a busy surgery backed by our full hospitalisation and surgery facilities based in Yeadon.

In August 2011, Tweed House was taken over by Katie and Andrew Price after six years of Andrew being a veterinary surgeon at the practice. They aim to continue the high standard of veterinary care that has always been provided by Tweed House.

nora janossy DRMEDvet MRCVS

Thanks to the vet programmes on TV and a trip to London in her early teenage years, Nora cherished the dream of becoming a vet and working in the UK someday. She graduated from the Veterinary University in Budapest , Hungary and spent three and a half years in a small animal clinic in Hungary before joining a small animal practice in Leicestershire in September 2012. She is most interested in internal medicine, particularly diagnostic imaging. Geriatric care is also quite close to her heart.
In her spare time she enjoys trips to the cinema and theatre, reading and being outdoors. She has two rescue setters which keep her active. She is looking forward discovering Yorkshire and capture its beauty on camera. She enjoys a variety of sports, including skating, swimming archery and horse riding.

Andy chance BVSc mrcvs

Andy graduated from Bristol Uni in 1999 and went straight into mixed practice in Norfolk. He then went travelling for 2 years during which time he worked in Australia and New Zealand. On return to the UK he moved to Yorkshire and worked in a few practices in the area before running his own for 7 years. He then left frontline practice to work in a diagnostic medical laboratory helping vets to make the right diagnostic decisions before returning to clinical practice. Clinically he loves clinical pathology, ultrasonography and dealing with complicated medical cases. Outside of work he loves spending time with his kids, cooking, landscape photography, travel and movies.

scott linnett BVetMed mrcvs

Since graduating from the Royal Veterinary College in 1998, Scott has spent most of his veterinary career on Teesside. He joined Tweed House in January 2022, and alongside an interest in medicine Scott performs a wide range of soft tissue and orthopaedic surgeries. These include the TTA procedure to address cruciate ligament tears (as well as the lateral suture technique in smaller patients), luxating patella surgery (augmented with Ridgestop implant, when indicated), some fracture repairs, and intra-articular mesenchymal stem cell therapy. Recognising the important place that pets hold in the lives of owners and their families, Scott appreciates the opportunity to sustain the health and wellbeing of his patients. Away from veterinary practice Scott enjoys time with family, and going to concerts or the cricket - these days, apparently, he watches rather better than he plays...

Andrew Price BVMS (Hons) MRCVS

Andy qualified from Glasgow University with Honours in 2004. After spending a year in a small animal practice in Cheshire he moved to Tweed House. Andy also has a keen interest in surgery and routinely performs operations such as cruciate ligament repair, patellar luxation correction, fracture repair and more complicated soft tissue surgery. Andy has received training from Orthomed in performing Tibial Tuberosity Advancement (TTA) for cruciate ligament surgery and the Ridgestop procedure for Patellar Luxation. Andy has a Jack Russel called Dougal, two cats, two horses, five sheep and three guinea pigs! Outside of work he enjoys fell running, having taken part in the Three Peaks Fell Race and British Fell Relay Championships.
